Masters, chief engineer officers, chief mates, second engineer officers and any person with immediate responsibility for loading, discharging, care in transit, handling of cargo, tank cleaning or other cargo-related operations on liquefied gas tankers must hold a certificate in advanced training for liquefied gas tanker cargo operations.
On successful completion of this course a certificate of training will be issued by the training provider. The training certificate, together with supporting documentation, must be submitted to the Department of Transport who will issue qualifying seafarers with a Certificate of Proficiency in Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations.
