Class 1 Engineer

CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY AS FISHING VESSEL CLASS 1 ENGINEER

 

Prior to making your application for a Certificate of Competency as Fishing Vessel Class 2 Engineer you should ensure that:

 

  • You know your Seafarer ID Number,

  • You have a Certificate of Competency as Fishing Vessel Class 2 Engineer,

  • All your Qualifying Sea Service is supported by Sea Service Testimonials,

  • You have a valid Medical Fitness Certificate,

  • You have the following valid certificates or refresher training for:

    • Basic Training Personal Survival Techniques,

    • Advanced Fire Fighting,

    • Medical First Aid,

  • You have all other relevant documentation as set out in the application form.

     

    Prior to the issue of your Certificate of Competency you must have:

     

  • Successfully completed an Oral Examination carried out by the Marine Survey Office.
  • Successfully completed the following modules:
    • Thermodynamics
    • Mechanics
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering drawing
    • Engineering Knowledge General
    • Engineering Knowledge Motor

Class 2 Engineer

CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY AS FISHING VESSEL CLASS 2 ENGINEER

 

Prior to making your application for a Certificate of Competency as Fishing Vessel Class 2 Engineer you should ensure that:

 

  • You know your Seafarer ID Number,

  • You have a Certificate of Competency as Fishing Vessel Class 3 Engineer or you have been permitted entry directly into the Class 2 examination due to previously approved training.

  • All your Qualifying Sea Service is supported by Sea Service Testimonials,

  • You have a valid Medical Fitness Certificate,

  • You have the following valid certificates or refresher training for:

    • Basic Training Personal Survival Techniques

    • Advanced Fire Fighting,

    • Medical First Aid,

  • You have all other relevant documentation as set out in the application form.

     

    Prior to the issue of your Certificate of Competency you must have:

     

  • Successfully completed an Oral Examination carried out by the Marine Survey Office.
  • Successfully completed the following modules:
    • General Engineering Science I
    • General Engineering Science II
    • Engineering Knowledge I
    • Engineering Knowledge II

Class 3 Engineer

CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY AS FISHING VESSEL CLASS 3 ENGINEER

 

Prior to making your application for a Certificate of Competency as Fishing Vessel Class 3 Engineer you should ensure that:

 

  • You know your Seafarer ID Number,

  • You have successfully completed initial training,

  • All your Qualifying Sea Service is supported by Sea Service Testimonials,

  • You have a valid Medical Fitness Certificate,

  • You have the following valid certificates or refresher training for:

    • Basic Training Personal Survival Techniques

    • Basic Training Fire Prevention and Firefighting,,

    • Medical First Aid,

  • You have all other relevant documentation as set out in the application form.

     

    Prior to the issue of your Certificate of Competency you must have:

     

  • Successfully completed an Oral Examination carried out by the Marine Survey Office.
